I would like to digitalize some old Video8 tapes (e.g. SONY Video8 MP60 8 mm, single play 60 min.)

Unfortunately, I do not have the time to digitalize them by myself. I found a lot of providers online. However, they offer many different formats:

E.g.: Video-DVD (MPEG-2), MP4, DV-AVI

Now I wonder which would be the best format for Vido8 digitalization. Is there something like a "raw" format (I am more into photography)?

My requirements are:

  • Image/sound quality > compatibility (Mac and Windows) > file size. However, 50h video should not exceed 4TB.
  • Only few postprocessing (mainly adding some chapter titles)

Is there anything else that is worth considering regarding Video8 digitalization?
