So far I am using the front facing camera on my phone to shoot videos so that I can see how I am framed, etc. It's a decent quality ...

... However, I'm aware that on most phones the rear facing cameras are superior.

Is there a way I can use my computer as a monitor to show me what my camera sees, as I'm filming?

PS - I am using an iMac and an Android phone, which may or may not complicate things.

  • Search "tethered shooting" & see if you can find an app for the Mac that supports your phone. There are plenty of apps, but not all devices can be tethered. – Tetsujin Jan 27 at 10:23
