Most boroscopes (tiny mobile cameras) are designed for short focal lengths, like a few inches (think: drain pipe inspection). The boroscopes that claim long focal lengths cite up 16 inches. That's still too short. I need 24-48". That would let me use a boroscope as my webcam for Skype, Zoom, MS-Teams, & GoToMeeting, ... so that the other persons sees me making eye contact with them.
To explain: my monitor is large, and my webcam sits atop it. So my video call partner sees me staring at their chest for the whole call. Not great for social connecting! And if I put my webcam on a stand centered in front of my monitor, the webcam is too large/distracting. But a little boroscope, I could learn to ignore.
Bonus points if the boroscope does not also bundle in a phone-sized video screen (since I have no use for that). But I'd live with paying for that, so long as I get the longer focal length.
If anyone has a suggestion of a better place to post this sort of question, or where to continue the search in general, that would be a big help too.
