I've been struggling with this for days with little success and really hope someone can help.

I have video files in .avi H.265 (HEVC) format. There are about 1000 of these videos that I need to edit. Sadly, few programs can handle the file type, so I need to convert it.

The videos play in VLC, however VLC conversion to MP4 is inefficient as about 40% of the output MP4s are corrupted each time that I do this.

I then took a different approach (after screening a lot of software). I used MP4Box GUI I was able to Demux the videos to allow for reformatting, but this increased the speed of the videos 1.9x, with no clear cause. I then converted that video to MP4 and it did work in some other software, but as I said, it was at the wrong speed.

I then tried the software AVIDemux, which worked well, but it only allows one video at a time, it's also very slow.

The videos will not open in the following programs:

  • Bandicut
  • Wondershare/Filmora
  • DIVX
  • Blender
  • Handbrake
  • Movavi
  • Windows media play (new and classic)
  • Blender
  • Kdenlive
  • Videosolo

The online conversion website onlineconverter.com does work, but isn't suitbale for the volume. Media Info output below:

Media info descriptor of video files

Sorry for the rambling, hope it makes sense.
