I am editing a preview video of an iPhone screen (portrait) in Final Cut Pro. When finish i click share for Apple devices, then no matter what i choose it will be m4v file which is useless for web.

I would like to :

  1. Export my iPhone movie and keep the ratio without black bars on the sides

  2. I would like a normal file format, for instance mp4.

  3. Don't make my file larger than original (how is it that i start with 20M video, cut 30% of it out, and finish with 23M video output?)

Button line- i need an mp4 portrait edited video for web.

  • If you only need to cut a part out of it, have you tried using ffmpeg? – Florian Claaßen Feb 21 at 11:29
