Trying to get H.264 to stream real time from one point to another point (i.e. single sender and single receiver). Is there an easy proof of concept to do this using ffmpeg. Tried multiple player programs and all sorts of flags on the encoding side, including using h264_nvenc with LLHP preset so it's hardware accelerated. Everything seems to come in at >= 4 seconds best case.
There are plenty of video conferencing services that do real-time H.264 (i.e. such low latency that the delay isn't perceived as an issue by people), so it must be possible.
For testing purposes this is being done on the same machine so there's no network latency involved.
