I'm trying to find a screen recording software with a special feature. Suppose I want to write a very big equation or draw a complicated diagram or trace a transparent map. One of the possible ways is to put that equation or diagram as a background/reference image with adjusting its opacity, and then start overwritten by a digital pen.

Is there any software that allows me to avoid that background image during my recording session?

  • Rather than use screen recording software, you might be better off with animation software. If free is your price range, Blender's grease pencil springs to mind, otherwise After Effects and the write-on or stroke effects might do the job. – stib Oct 30 '19 at 0:11
