I am trying to encode 5000x3000 pixel .jpg images into video, and would like use frame interpolation using ffmpeg 's minterpolate tool.

I realize this is a huge video at high quality, but the idea is to do frame interpolation first (it's slow), then in a second step make various crops / scaling / bitrate reductions using this "high quality" source video file.

Here is what I'm running:

ffmpeg -y -r 65 -pattern_type glob -i 'source_frames/*.jpg' \
-c:v libx264 -crf 25 -preset veryslow -g 48 -profile:v high -level 4.0 -bf 2 -pix_fmt yuv420p \
-filter:v "minterpolate='mi_mode=mci:mc_mode=aobmc:vsbmc=1:fps=24'" \
-movflags +faststart vid.mp4

...but I am faced with the following error:

It seems that the process is running out of memory. I am using ffmpeg version 3.4.6-0ubuntu0.18.04.1

Any idea what the problem is or what to try?
