Dropped frames produce highly noticeable artifacting unless interpolation is done around the dropped frames to blend over the sudden change of speed and missing data. Also, adjusting the frame rate doesn't do anything about dropped frames. The clock rate of an audio source is just as likely to be off as the clock rate of video, the only difference is that video is more likely to miss a frame entirely, but this is a separate type of problem. (though drop frames can cause desync as well) | |
