comment The ProRes of Premiere Pro?
As an update, I'm basically using Final Cut Pro X now and thus using ProRes.. It's lovely.

Wow cool. Blackrap would save a lot of hacksawing, bolts and hammering hinges to resistance!

Yeah, while you can inevitably build barn doors to control spill, you still face the issue that they're one brightness and that brightness is well.. bright! A dimmer is a fantastic idea. How do you find the colour when they're dimmed? Does it change the frequency at all?

comment Music video lighting with small budget?
In Brisbane, we might be looking at around $50-150 a weekend for some moderate lighting gear.

The other option is to hire some professional lighting gear. Appears pricing may not be such an issue.

comment Music video lighting with small budget?
I plan on going to Bunnings (said hardware super store) and seeing what they have. I have a reflector which I plan to use, potentially to provide some soft backlighting.

comment The color in my Final Cut PX Viewer is way off
I'm running a 2010 MacBook Pro with a 9400M which is supported. Apparently it's got something to do with the colour profile used on the monitor.

I have the same issue. Videos in the preview area (only) are quite a bit darker, but they come out fine after exporting...

comment How can I make an actor cry?
I've always wondered how many actors are making themselves cry internally, being made to cry (which is not exactly easy) or are using some sort of practical effects...

60D 60fps video is indeed progressive.

MP4 isn't a codec, it's a container format.

comment The ProRes of Premiere Pro?
On my MBP, it's actually not until I use 60fps footage or apply effects (such as colour filters) to clips that I need to render. I'll be giving ProRes a run to see how it works first then check out the CineForm Studio option considering it's free.

comment The ProRes of Premiere Pro?
I think ProRes is looking up. The upside of using ProRes is that if I ever buy Final Cut Pro X the files are there.

Not complaining :) Just stating a fact. Updated my question btw.

comment The ProRes of Premiere Pro?
I am also on a Mac (13" MacBook Pro Core 2, 8GB DDR3, not the most powerful laptop...). I may just try converting a few clips to ProRes 422 and see how it handles it.

comment What factors are important for DSLR lenses for shooting video?
Parfocal lenses, though, will not lose focus distance (within an acceptable margin of mechanical error).
