Enthusiastic amateur - worked as a presales engineer for a Silicon Graphics company back in the day, so did a fair bit of animation with Alias Wavefront, then Maya.

Still do video editing on various platforms, as well as sound editing.

Sonar and Cubase are my preferred audio platforms.

comment How is laserdisc information physically stored on the disc?
Hi Jim - adding a quick summary, or a quoted section of the key answer points would make this a much more valuable answer.

A google search using those search terms gives me a wide range of cameras at speeds including 700, 1000, 10000 fps.

comment What's the difference between Behringer XENYX 1202FX and the Behringer Eurorack UB1202FX?
Captain - Evan is correct. The spec sheet from Behringer shows no USB connection on the 1202FX.

anq - you can edit your answer to include this. That may earn you upvotes...

comment What tools do you use for command line editing?
This is not a question - it is very much an "I dislike ffmpeg and like these other tools - what do you use" post. Which is not helpful, and is entirely opinion based.

comment Why don't phones correct vertical filming?
The default video camera app on the OnePlus One does intelligently sense what orientation you have recorded video on, and plays it exactly as you would expect. I discovered this at the weekend when uploading video I took at a Slash gig to my computer. Most of the videos were of the whole stage, but I recorded some portrait video of Slash playing solos - worked perfectly.

comment How to encode 60p MP4 video to play on TVs?
have you tried checking which codecs your TV can play (the manual should tell you) and convert to them. Or convert to video and just feed that to your TV over HDMI.

comment Playing back a video file with an optional time sequence
I'd have to agree Professor - it is much easier, and less fraught with potential embarrassment to cut the video in advance. Then all you need on the day is to be able to hit play

Renting will depend on your locale etc. Either google for local companies, or ask an organiser of a festival that uses them in your region.

As Professor Sparkles said. The entire comment chain was unnecessary. Being insulting, or name calling is not appropriate here.

Thanks YoMismo - I have inserted your comments into your post (the EDIT function lets you do that too)

Sorry - we do have a software recommendation site, but not a hardware one. A quick Google shows a couple of user review sites.

comment Recommendation for a flying camera device
There are existing sites covering recommendations for mobile camera platforms such as quad rotors. Recommendations aren't really that suitable on SE.

comment Do actors have rights over the footage?
This question appears to be off-topic because it is not about video production, but is about copyright law.

comment My converted videos look bad… what am I doing wrong?
In looking at the Sony example, though, the challenge is that we don't know what the original was like.

I think you already explained the problem - you are trying to drop bitrate. This will always reduce quality, so you need to decide what your priority is. Keeping quality or shrinking file size.
