I've been producing music from a young age.

I take pride at being one of the first people to build their own DAW-based home studio (early 90s), but equally regret missing the thrills of tape machines.

I've been working as an engineer, programmer, producer and a mixer in various settings, from Abbey Road Studios to ropey bedrooms.

But my real drug is sonic sculpturing. A drug that has led me to publish a book on the topic: Mixing Audio.

For 10 years now, I've been an academic teacher at the audio department of SAE London.

comment Why do some camcorders record in 1080i?
Oh... OK.... The last sentence gives the real explanation. One can easily misinterpret your answer to think that interlaced has altogether lower data rate than progressive. As you mentioned, both involve the same amount of data (only with interlaced a frame is split into 2 fields).

@AJHenderson - Why is the 'lower data rate' claim?

comment Finding a highest megapixel camera for PC
Please note that many people take the megapixels specification as proportional to the image quality, but that is incorrect. Higher megapixel cameras require smaller pixel sensors (as there are more of them on the sensor). Smaller pixel sensors mean less photons are hitting each sensor, thus producing more noise. High megapixel specs are important mainly if the image is to be printed in large scale (billboards, etc.). But for highest quality small images a lower mega pixel camera may well produce a better image.
