Hi, and welcome to Video Production SE! It sounds like what you're trying to do is pretty ambitious, and I'm sure there are people here with good advice for you, but we might need a little more information to be as helpful as we can. First of all how do you plan to achieve these effects? What sort of cameras, lenses, equipment do you have available (particularly, I'm wondering about macro lenses and green screens)? When you say, "Then we are going to zoom out...", are you envisioning a jump cut, or something fancier? For something fancier, I imagine you'll need software other than iMovie.

comment Is is possible to trim portions of clips in FCPX to save disk space?
@stib, No more media manager in fcpx. It's not that i have a problem cutting clips to make edits, It's that I want to delete unused media to save disk space. To answer your first question, we shoot in a variety of codecs, including prores, h.264, CinemaDNG, Cineform, and Sony RAW. The raw formats always get transcoded to prores, the h.264 sometimes does, and the Cineform never does.

comment FCP X 10.1.1 - Transitioning to libraries without blending
I've seen some tutorials for upgrading to libraries which make use of Event Manager X floating around the internet. Perhaps that's a good direction to look into. Haven't tried it myself, so I'm not really sure.

comment How do I set up a field recorder with camera/wireless monitoring?
I agree with AJ's comment below: "Any reason not to timecode sync them and combine in post if running two cables is really a problem." There is also software available that can sync audio tracks without timecode, so is it the cables that's the problem? Also, I'm unclear as to why you're specifically interested in responses from mixers. I'm not really an audio guy, but if your problem is integrating audio with video, then I might be able to help. Please clarify your question or provide us with additional info so we can help you clarify it.
