That would be nice, but I personally have no experience with that sort of thing...

OK, one more example: Click the "Rate" arrows and then jog your mouse wheel up until it reads "-1.00" this is the EXACT effect I need, but the problem is this, when I move the mouse back into the timeline, it starts playing forward again... I need it to play like that until I specifically tell it to play forward again.

I found something that might help clarify what I am looking for: If you drag the "Rate" arrows (bottom left corner of the timeline) to the left a little, it will read "-1.02" or whatever; I am looking for this effect with just a keystroke. thank you!

thank you for all your help. I will try this, I hope this technique is more responsive than Sony customer service in the past! I am not impressed with their business model as far as customer service goes, had a few run ins, and they dont seem to care...

Thanks for the help, im not in a hurry, it is just annoying. and I meant going from vegas 8 to vegas 11 (they just call it those fancy words) it wasnt a patch or anything. I am guessing it is a "feature" but I cant figure out how to turn it off. I dont want to have to close the edit window either, doing football stats means the window is open more than it is closed, and as you see with the "42>", I cant read it while I am editing the text and you have to edit it with the window open...

Yes, this happens when the I have the "Video Media Generator" window active, regardless of there I am in the timeline. This did not appear in the Vegas I used up until a few weeks ago when I updated. Is this something that can not be turned off? Notice how the "42>" is virtually unreadable because of it, I want it to go away!
