comment How to capture 4K screens?
I have an NVIDIA Quadro card and it is not fast enough to realtime-encode 4K.

comment How should I encode my 4K video stream?
@Mulvya ha! direct recording on SD is impossible because of the terrible 30-minute limit. that just kills the whole thing outright.

comment How should I encode my 4K video stream?
@Mulvya I've tried things like ffmpeg -f dshow -rtbufsize 2000M -video_size 3840x2160 -i video="2318-INOGENI 4K2USB3":audio="Digital Audio Interface (2318-INOGENI 4K2USB3)" -c:v nvenc -preset slow -loglevel info r:\4k.mp4

comment Getting weird noise when using an attenuator cable
@HansMeiser DAP = digital audio player. There is a level control, I've tried going up and down, the noise is still there. The camera is Sony a7R II.

comment What options are there for hardware encoding/decoding?
you mention realtime encoding, but what I actually need is beyond realtime, e.g., converting an existing uncompressed AVI to MP4... instantly, if possible.
