comment CPU vs. GPU in a MacPro
@JasonConrad that's probably what I'm going to do (keep my fingers crossed) I've also seen some rumors of a new MacPro later for this year. I don't get why Adobe is always saying on their forums that they're utilizing the MacPro basically to it's fullest potential, but almost every user say that isn't the case...

Thanks for the quick response! Sounds good, it's quite interesting that Adobe is constantly saying that their products are fully compatible with and are utilizing all the power of the new MacPro, but almost every user says that they don't see it. On the SSD, the reason I didn't mention that is because it is standard on the new MacPros, but thanks for throwing it in!

Not a bad idea, except that for my situation, I'm doing a different clip most of the time, so it would actually take longer.

I should have thought of that! It's MUCH faster than what I've been doing. Thanks a million, I edited the question a little to make it clearer.

comment can't import AVI type 1 to premiere CS6
That is likely, although I've run into this similar issue and AME transcoded it and it worked fine in PP afterward.

The reason I didn't say anything about keyframing is that he said the spot was from dust on the sensor, so it won't be moving very much!

Ok, gotcha! Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Thanks for the reply, and yes, I've been doing some research around the internet and it doesn't seem to be a requirement, although I have yet to see an absolute affirmative that it's a non issue anymore. Everything that I've seen so far basically says that it's a good idea, but everybody seems to be pretty noncommittal.

@Bart Arondson It's absolutely a bonus! I'd just wanted to through it out, because it would be very nice...

The screen is going to be curved, so we need a way do digitally manipulate the lens distortion.

@Bart Arondson as far as the trigger, what we want is a way to start the presentation when someone enters the room. It might mean that the presentation starts when a door is opened, or someone passes a sensor.
