comment Black halo / ghosting on transparent layered PSD file imported into FCPX
Do the layers maybe use a certain blending mode in Photoshop which is not supported in FCPX?

comment Correcting exposure flickering in time-lapse footage (in After Effects)
@FriendofKim Ok, I see. I understand you point that cameras are not accurate, but a big part of your answer bases itself on this "fact" so it's a pity that you don't have the source anymore.

This leads to an accuracy of maximum 96 % I don't understand where you got the numbers. Do you have a source for that?

comment Sources to learn more about Audio/Video compression, codecs, algorithms etc.
This answer is really general and doesn't really help the OP. Could you maybe edit it to make it more specific? Maybe add links to relevant Wikipedia pages.

comment Is There A Fraps Alternative That Records Different Audio Sources To Different Tracks
Hi and welcome to Video.SE. Right now the question is not very clear. Could you clarify (by using the edit function) what you mean by different audio sources? I would understand it in a regular audio recording setup, but as Fraps is used to record gameplay I'm not sure what is meant. Do you maybe mean the microphone and the game-audio?

comment How to correct shadows when parts are too bright and other parts too dark?
Why is it tedious to use region based filters (I assume you mean a mask)? By this video is amateur, do you mean that the footage is very shaky?

comment What is the most lossless way to rip a laserdisc to a Mac?
You should specify the end goal in your question. Use the edit function to do so. Also, does the guide cover (part) of your question? If not, please specify which part is not clear. If it does I guess the guide is your answer and I can post it as such.

comment How to achieve this kind of masks and transitions
You're asking quite some things in one question. Could you please ask every question separately? This keeps the site organised and enables people to answer one question, even if they don't know answers to the other questions. You could for example ask four questions about the subjects: -Intro, -Subtitle, -Transitions -Color correction.

What are you going to do with the digital file? Do you want to convert it to a DVD eventually? Here's a guide to get you started by the way. It covers the hardware aspect pretty well.

@stib according to the features page it's also available on Windows through MinGW (and on Mac through Macports for those without homebrew).

comment How could I make a map zoom in effect?
You could get a high resolution image of the desired satellite map and zoom in on it in your video editor. For extra effect you could add a clouds layer in it as well. Search for high resolution google map to see the possibilities of free high res google maps.. Regarding the copyright I would say this is fair use so no worries there, but I am not a lawyer.

To the close vote: this is not opinion based. Most probably Windows Movie Maker has a preferred format which doesn't need any transcoding by WMM.

comment Arbitrary angles or slices for split screens
For software recommendations to be helpful it is necessary to know which OS you use and which software you are working with (in case someone wants to recommend a plugin). Generally After Effects can mask any shape, so this would work for you as a solution.
