I used to do a lot more video related work, doing 3D animation and video editing. However, it's been years, and not only have I forgotten a lot, technology has moved on.

These days I do a small amount of video editing on Kdenlive on Ubuntu.

comment How do I remove audio from all files in a directory with ffmpeg?
Thanks for the suggestion. However, the interface for WinFF, as far as I can see, does not have any particularly easier options than just using the command line. Put another way, they have fields where you enter in the command line options, so I'm not even sure what the advantage of it is. At the very least, I can't see any option for removing the audio from a video file.

comment What is a good efficient way to isolate clips from long movies?
Cheers for that. I think eventually I'll be able to tweak the settings to be able to extract clips as needed. This looks like the way to go.

The videos are in a variety of formats - matroska, MP4, and avi. Thank you for the code, I'm trying to make it work, though it seems to be balking on the audio output codec. Also, I assume the time format is hh:mm:ss...?
