About

A video editor is either a piece of hardware or software used for trimming and organizing multiple source clips in to a final output clip. It may include the ability to add non-video elements as well such as placing titles over videos. It generally allows for simple effects such as color correction, scaling and cropping to be applied to video and for transitions to be placed between clips. It may also provide some basic audio editing capability.

Video editor may also refer to the individual who uses a video editing system to edit video.
