Firewire, also known as IEEE 1394, is an interface standard used for connecting external devices to computers. It is similar in concept, but not in implementation, to USB. Firewire is frequently used for digital cameras and audio interfaces. Use this tag for questions that specifically deal with using firewire connections and devices.
