Adobe Premiere Pro was one of the first computer-based NLEs, with the software first being released in 1991 on the Mac. Today, it is part of Adobe's Creative Cloud with it's latest version being CC 2021.
The software supports resolutions of up to 10,240x8192 in up to 32-bits per channel color. It provides plugin support, multiple-channel sound mixing, and integration with other Adobe products such as Photoshop and After Effects.
Versions
Before being changed to Premiere Pro 1.0, it was released with incremental version numbers from Premiere 1 to Premiere 7.
It was then released as a part of CS3, CS4, CS5, and CS6. Following the release of Creative Cloud, it has seen multiple releases. The latest release version is CC 2021.
